QLD Psychological Therapies Process
1
Inquiry & Intake
After receiving your referral from your GP or Head to Health hotline service, our administrative staff will be in contact with you to book the initial intake appointment with our intake team. Once we have all the relevant documentation, and if your referral is deemed suitable for our service, our program manager will allocate you to a Health & wellbeing clinician who has the skill set to meet your needs.
2
Initial session
You can expect a welcoming and confidential environment where your clinician will aim to understand your concerns, goals, and background. The session often involves discussing the reasons for seeking help, personal history, and current challenges. The clinician may ask questions to assess emotional, behavioral, and cognitive patterns, while also explaining the therapy process and answering any questions you might have. It’s an opportunity for you to share openly and for the clinician to collaboratively develop an initial plan for treatment.
3
Ongoing sessions
You will work collaboratively with your clinician to determine the appropriate frequency of sessions, and the amount of sessions you will likely need. Our administrative staff will book these appointments with you.
